SA MULTI-TURN ACTUATORS WITH GS WORM GEARBOXES

AUMA part-turn gearboxes are widely used for the operation of part-turn valves and special valves such as dampers and flue gas dampers. AUMA worm gearboxes come with a range of design features, options, and ambient conditions that make them suitable for different applications. AUMA GS Part-Turn Gearboxes are designed to operate part-turn valves with a swing angle of up to 190° or multi-turn without an end stop. These gearboxes can be operated either manually through a handwheel or via motor operation using an electric multi-turn actuator.

About AUMA Part-Turn Gearboxes | GS

They can operate in two different types of duty: short-time duty S2 – 15 min (open-close duty) and inching/positioning, and intermittent duty S4 – 25% (modulating duty only bronze).

The gearboxes come with a range of design features that make them durable and reliable. They have a torque range of up to 675,000 Nm and reduction ratios from 39:1 to 3328:1. The gearboxes can be equipped with or without primary reduction gearing, and they come with a 360° worm wheel.

The end stops of the gearboxes are designed with a travelling nut principle in accordance with AWWA C504. The output drive of the gearboxes is based on the ISO standard, and the end stops are adjustable.

All parts within the power drive of the gearboxes have been subjected to thermal hardening, which enhances their durability and reliability. AUMA GS Part-Turn Gearboxes also have an enclosure protection of IP68, high-quality corrosion protection, and they can operate in a wide range of temperatures from -60°C to +120°C.

Options for Auma part-turn gearboxes

AUMA GS Part-Turn Gearboxes come with a range of options that make them versatile and suitable for different applications. For instance, they can be equipped with a swing angle greater than 100° or multi-turn without end stops. The worm wheel of the gearboxes can also be made of bronze for modulating applications. In addition, clockwise rotation at the input shaft results in counterclockwise rotation at the output drive.

The gearboxes can also be equipped with a base and lever, chain drive, or housing made of spheroidal cast iron. There are also versions of the gearboxes designed for drinking water applications and nuclear power plants. They can be coated with a fireproof K-MASS® coating. The gearboxes can also be equipped with an extension flange IM1 to IM3 version in accordance with EN ISO 12944-2. Finally, AUMA GS Part-Turn Gearboxes can be configured for functional safety up to SIL 2 in selected configurations.

Applications of Auma part-turn gearboxes

AUMA GS Part-Turn Gearboxes are designed for different applications, including part-turn valves, dampers, flue gas dampers, and other special valves. They are suitable for use in different industries, such as oil and gas, water and wastewater, power plants, and chemical plants.
